Story telling K’naan style

There is nothing like a good story, and even better, a good story in a good song. Story telling and narrative within music is as old as the spoken word itself, in fact some scholars believe that as a form of communication the ’sung’ word may well have preceded the ’spoken’ word.

A student from Glasgow’s School of Art’s, who’s studying visual communications, put this together as part of his final year course work, he missed the cut off for a remix competition that radiohead held (you had to buy the parts from itunes other wise I would have entered… baaaahhhhh) he rightly decided to share it with the world anyway, genius… thank you James Houston

Drongomala swerves down a side street from his previous work with The Good Hurt and their electro-heavy music of Manchester to produce a more gentle affair with Louis Oak Anderson from Devon. There is an interesting story in the blurb about how this record was nearly not made as Drongomalas laptop was nicked which contained the final mixes. Two years later he has got around to recovering it and it seems like it was worth the effort.

Word is that the boys have been recording with the legendary Sly and Robbie in Kingston, Jamaica and that the new album is going to be a rock/dub fest.

The Album is called All Rebal Rockers and will be coming to a store near you in September.
